Meet the Owner: Connor Piche

Hi, I’m Connor Piche, owner of Scuba Weed Control. I grew up in Minnesota and spent my summers at my grandparents’ cabin in Brainerd. The lake there was clear and beautiful—perfect for swimming, boating, and spending time with family. As I got older, I realized not all lakes were like that. Some were so full of weeds that people couldn’t even use them. That’s when I knew I wanted to do something to help.

I’ve been in the lake weed removal industry for over 11 years. I was planning to work for another company, but when they closed, I already had my scuba certification and my equipment. So I decided to start my own business, and that’s how Scuba Weed Control began. We now serve lakefront homeowners and property managers across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.

Customer service is a big part of what we do. I believe in being reliable, on time, and clear with communication. My team and I take pride in our work. We clean up after ourselves, focus on the details, and treat every property with care. Most of all, we do what’s right, even when no one is watching. This higher-touch service is what sets us apart.

My favorite part of the job is being out on the water. I love Minnesota’s lakes and feel lucky to work in them every day. But what I enjoy even more is helping people. Many of our clients can’t use their shoreline because of weeds or muck. When we come in and clear it out, it can completely change their experience. That kind of impact is really satisfying.

Outside of work, my life is full and fun. I’m a dad to four great kids, all under the age of six. In the winter, I spend my time with them and coach youth hockey. I also support a cause close to my heart, Humor to Fight the Tumor, which helps families affected by brain cancer.
